Scrap card and new to me die - Soft & sweet

Monday June 29, 2015

I was needing a baby card and I had this die I have not used of the t-shirt.. I though why not make a shirt and make it with the arrow pointing to the baby.. Perfect for the baby shower card. Also this stamp set from Inkadinkado I have never used before. I chose some DCWV papers and the arrow is also from My favorite things along with the shirt. . I will be using this shirt again. I think this die could make a great masculine card with some camo paper, or some animal print. I am sure I must have some words to put on it.. hummm I will be making another card soon with those idea..

I used hearts and stars from the Tech Tues. (globe die I used on another card posted earlier) I used scraps of paper for all of this. I used wink of stella on the hearts and stars.

Now that I am older I would change some things in my life and saved more and be retired now vs. 18 months from now.. Oh well it is what it is. I am thankful for so much in my life.. I though it fit the riff raff group of cats..   I used the plaid paper from BG max and whiskers and the orange is from recollections (michaels) and base is kraft from the Kraft journal site. New release at Catch the bug / Bugaboo

Welcome to a new release of the image Butterfly rose corner

I usually don't do larger cards. This one is measuring 5 inch square.  I really wanted to use this sentiment from Paper trey ink and the hint of a cross in the background. I got a little goober on the stamp when I stamped it off and of course did not know till I lifted the image. Bummer but the roses and all were already colored in.  What to do but say it's a home made card..   I know... if I hadn't mentioned it you'd never of seen it..  LOL.

Ooh La La digi papers - #183 - Happy Birthday / Chinese Vase Florals

Monday June 22, 2015

I decided since I got two files to use of digi designer papers I would make two cards for the theme #183  Happy Birthday at Ooh La La

I liked both files for the theme and so made two birthday cards as both are so different.

Thanks you Ooh La La for letting me be a guest designer for the month of June.

I made this card today using the Chinese Vase Floral Extravaganza digi set.. Again there are more papers than what I used.. I wanted to use as much as I could so I made a gate folded card but the left side over laps just a quarter inch or so.   I wanted to use the awesome framed photo and to make it work for me I chose to do my card so the frame part is on the front and then the tag has the sentiment on it. The inside is left for a larger sentiment.   I used a SU card base and the sentiment is from PTI.

I think I am addicted to digi papers.. Tell me these aren't BEAUTIFUL.. I dare you. I drooled all over them.. I love the turn back page, the woven paper..all of them.. There are more than the few that I used in the file.  I just love the looks.  This is Seaweed wrap digi's by Ooh La La.

The theme is Happy Birthday so I found a cute sentiment by the rubber café that I thought went great with the image and then the happy birthday is from paper trey ink.  I used SU card base.

Saturday June 20, 2015

Here is the BINGO card to go by..

This is my card using Kidz sitter music   and I chose to use the diagonal left to right.. Teal/orange/pink - Ribbon - Embossing
I used SU card base. I used a piece of water color paper and clear embossed the PTI music and heat embossed, I then took Dylusion sprays in Teal, Pink, Orange and spritzed the water color paper. I then adhered it to the SU card base that is a turquoise/teal color.. I added the ribbon and the sentiment is from Tech. Tues. I used copics to color the paper before I stamped the sentiment. I colored the image in Copics and fussy cut her out so she could sit on the ribbon. I used some wink of stella on her but again you cant see it.  I felt like this child is at summer camp just sitting on a dock listening to music and having a great time. New paper and stamp set - Congratulations

Thursday June 11, 2015

Well keeping with cards not from a design team but using either scraps, new technique or new items.. This is a new item card. I have a co worker who is looking for a female graduation card so thought she may like this.. I hope.. Last month Simon says club of the month had this sentiment in the stamp set and the paper is from MME. so though ok I'll use it and hope it works out what my mind thought.. Yup it worked. I stamped the SS sentiment on the MME paper and use my MFT camellia and leaves die and made the flower.. I love this flower. you die cut two of the 4 petals twice and cut two of the two petal and add adhesive lining up opposite so you have two sets of petals, then you roll up the center and adhere it on top of the petal sets and you have this awesome flower. I added some MME enamel dots and called it done. This could be used for a wedding, retirement, birthday.. lots of occasions you celebrate.   Love it, hope co worker does.

If you want a quick Get Well card.. this is the image you need to pick up.. it just needs coloring and card base.. I used some scraps again and kept it pretty simple.  I like that the sentiment is already added to the image.  Sure for those that are computer smart can remove it and add their own sentiment.. Catch the bug ABC.. anything but a card - It's monday

Monday June 8, 2015

This is another Journal page divider I made for my personal journal. I went to Goodwill and found a nice larger journal that I now keep track of personal things. Not like last months small journal which is only for keeping track of design teams I am on.  If you read and remembered I did not use gesso on my chipboard on the May page.. but this one I did use it. I also used various colors of ranger refills.  I really like the look and the colors.  I took some water drops to make a little distress look.
I used the image Stella tidbits message  and a couple of her sayings.. I had some black rectangles so adhered them to the corners, I inked up some chip board arrows and added them. I thought it needed a feminine touch so added the flowers and leaves.  I will put this page into a protector sleeve and put her in my journal. I also used some hole enforcers just to give a look. I think once it's in my journal it will flatten out.. I know it will make me laugh or at least smile each time I open my journal.

Guest Designer at Ooh La La #182 - Here comes summer / it's definitely time for a vacation

Monday June 8, 2015

I was asked if I would like to be a Guest Designer at Ooh La La for June so I jumped at the chance.. what's one card..  I truly feel honored being asked.

The challenge for the next two weeks is #182  "Here Comes Summer"

I was given some digi papers to use for the challenge.  Now this is new to me. Sure I use designer papers from pads all the time so I guess it is similar to that.. But OH it is nice having these beautiful papers on the computer and you can size them and do what you want. All of the papers are Beach butterflies series and there are more than what I used.  I love the woven background paper it was a favorite of mine and the image is too cute. I cut some banners out of some of the other papers and the sea bird is a die I have and I just die cut him out of some black and gray that I had. I added the sand dollar button (DH removed the shank and sanded down) and my sentiment. The base is SU card stock. I am so pleased with this card.   I hope you get a chance to hop on over to the Ooh La La blog and play along.. Summer is right around the corner and what better way to get in the mood for summer than to make a "Here comes summer" card.   I hope I inspired you.
